Sandy has lived in Roseburg since 1964. She and her husband Wayne have four children and 6 grandchildren. After 20 years of working in the fields of business and banking, Sandy opened American Home Lending, LLC in 2000. She believes in the American dream of home and small business ownership. She derives great satisfaction in helping people realize that dream of affordable ownership. Sandy has a deep commitment to her wonderful family, awesome employees, and this community. She believes business is all about helping the customer! Sandy believes strongly in giving back to the community in which she lives by contributing to and supporting local youth groups, civic functions and activities, service-oriented agencies, and local charitable organizations. Over the years she has been involved in the Shots for Tots program, a sponsor of Casa de Belen in the rehabilitation of the facility which houses homeless children in Douglas County, American Legion Baseball, and Music on the Half Shell along with many other organizations and charities. Sandy is a member of the North Roseburg Rotary, the Roseburg Chamber of Commerce, Roseburg Rod and Gun Club and the Roseburg Country Club. She was heavily involved for 18 years from inception with the annual “Duck Race” for Children which raised funds for the prevention of child abuse in Douglas County.
Sandy is currently serving on the Douglas County Fair Board, and is a past board member for the Oregon Mortgage Association, a past Board Member for Douglas Cares and Douglas County Fire District #2. She also served by invitation as a Nationwide Advisory Council Member to Plaza Home Mortgage which is a nationwide wholesale lender.
American Home Lending has received many awards which include: the News-Review Reader’s Choice Award for being voted the number one mortgage company in Douglas County for 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2012. She has also received the Douglas County Board of Realtors Affiliate of the Year Award for 2009 & 2010, in addition she was presented with the “Excellence Award” in recognition of her ethical business practices from Rotary International, also the “You Make a Difference Award” for her community service and many kindnesses to others presented by Umpqua Bank. In January of 2009, Sandy was chosen as the “First Citizen” by the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce for her unselfish devotion and distinguished service to the community.
